Justine Kontou included in Book ‘Zo kan het ook'

Jaco Appelman, Mireille Langendijk and Anoek van der Leest wrote and published the book 'Zo kan het ook' on 22 June 2020.

Change: we are in the middle of it. The consequences of climate change, too much nitrogen and the emergence of viruses such as covid-19 means that we increasingly have to adapt to new circumstances. With our current economic model we are destroying ecosystems in order to achieve growth.
The people and projects in this book show that things can be done differently. The basis for this can be found in bio-inspired ways of thinking such as biomimicry, biophilia and circular economics. A green century is just around the corner.
By asking different questions and learning from ancient processes in nature, we can arrive at a new economy that does not destroy nature, but restores it. How can we do this in a way that promotes happiness, health and connectedness? You can read it all in this book.
The book is divided into nine themes: water, energy, food, infrastructure, working, living, products, recreation and lifestyle. Each theme contains interviews with pioneers who are already working on a bio-inspired society, with special projects, innovative products or good ideas.
Justine Kontou is pleased to be selected as on of those pioneers. By creating sensorial interiors to enhance introspection and wellbeing, she contributes to a society that shifts the focus from financial profit to a human-centered focus, where the highest achievable success is to stimulate healthy and satisfied people who respect our environment.

There are also examples from nature ('How does a cactus build?') and inspiration pages with even more beautiful inventions, products and tips.
"A collective goal lies ahead: the green revolution. And this book also shows how we can contribute to that: each in our own way". - Dennis Storm
